Podcast Episode #1 - Welcome Travelers
Hey everyone, welcome to the podcast Nomadic Roots. I'm your host Courtney Nicole and I'm so happy to be here with you all today. This is my first ever episode on my podcast so I figured that I would just take a couple minutes and share with you kind of what this is going to look like. The things that we're going to talk about, etc.
So I got the idea to start this podcast as I was driving 14 hours away from my home base going 85 down the interstate and man was my mind going just as fast as the wheels on my Subaru Crosstrek that I converted the back of into something that I could sustainably travel in.
I was thinking about all sorts of things. I was thinking about how thankful I am to be able to travel, see the world, meet new faces and be able to do it while staying healthy. Just feeling so alive. I realized that I had so many resources to be able to do these things efficiently and happily and my mind started thinking faster and faster. You know, there's people that want to be filled and fueled up by my stories and knowledge and simply just what I have to share.
As I was driving, I got a greater sense of who I was as a person. My self-worth came to surface. As I was driving, it felt like the fields were cheering me on as I was passing them and I was welcomed everywhere I went. Except for this one town that I got stopped in with a man telling me he was going to take my life if I kept going. And I'll get to the crazy stories later on in other episodes. But we're going to go through some wild rides here on this podcast, so buckle up.
Growing up, my family faced lots of challenges medically. When I was six, I was in a bus rollover accident that caused some severe neurological problems for me. And for many years, my mom was severely ill with Lyme disease. Later on, my dad got diagnosed with stage three, quickly moving to stage four cancer. And things were really difficult for us for a really long time. And it wasn't for anything but these two things that got us through it:
The grace of God saving a broken family through his deep love and compassion.
The beautiful tools that he placed here on this earth for us to use to heal our bodies.
We quickly became an all-natural family. We dropped all of our pharmaceutical drugs and doctor visits to being healed from depression, healed from sickness and disease, and my dad being fully healed and no trace of cancer within six months of diagnosis.
Now only if you knew the passion that I have now for natural medicine. There's not a single thing there's not a remedy for. And I'm thrilled to share those things with you. The discovery to them, how to use them, and to be empowered by them.
I'm passionate about self-growth and constant maturing in wisdom. So get ready to ride the waves of some tricky things that you're going to be prompted with during each episode for self-understanding and inner growth. We're going to have fun here. But like I said, things will get tricky and a little controversial sometimes. But remember, life won't give you anything too tough that you can't handle with the right tools and mindset. Until next time - stay wild, stay rooted, bye!
