The Blog by Nomadic Roots
This is a journal of becoming. A space where wandering leads to remembering, and the slow moments are the ones that matter most.
Here, I share what it means to live with both feet on the ground and eyes on the horizon, through stories of travel, healing, the kitchen table, and the beauty of everyday life.
Come as you are. Leave with something that roots you.

What Healthy Looks Like To Me - Blog Post #1
To be healthy isn’t just about how many steps you walk in a day or what you eat for breakfast. True health is a deep, layered balance of the mind, body, and spirit, each one intricately woven into the next. It’s not about perfection or rigid rules but rather about cultivating a sense of wholeness, peace, and resilience. Being healthy means you’re tending to every part of yourself, not out of fear, but out of love.
Mental health is the inner foundation. It’s the quiet strength that helps you navigate life’s waves without drowning in them. It’s your ability to pause, to breathe, to be fully present with your thoughts without letting them consume you. A healthy mind doesn’t mean you’re always happy, it means you’re self-aware. To be able to sit with discomfort, and yet still be kind to yourself in the process. It’s creating space to reflect, to grow, and to challenge the inner critic that says you're not enough. Mental health is nourished through rest, boundaries, meaningful conversations, and choosing stillness in a world that constantly demands motion.
Physical health is so much more than aesthetics or numbers. It’s feeling and being connected to your body, honoring what it needs, whether that’s movement or rest, water or warmth, strength or softness. It’s not about punishing your body into shape but about listening to its signals and responding with care. When you’re physically healthy, you move not just to burn calories but to celebrate what your body is capable of. You feed yourself not out of guilt or control but out of a desire to feel energized, strong, and alive. You rest because you’ve learned your body is not a machine, it’s a vessel that deserves your compassion.
And then there’s spiritual health, that quiet, anchoring part of you that reaches beyond logic or science. It’s the pulse of your soul, the inner knowing that you are part of something greater. Spiritual health isn’t about religion necessarily, it’s about connection. Connection to nature, to purpose, to your breath, to others, and most importantly, to yourself. It’s what guides you when the path gets blurry. It’s the peace that shows up in still mornings, in whispered prayers, in the way the sun touches your skin after a long day. It’s knowing that even when life doesn’t make sense, there’s still beauty and meaning in the mystery.
To be healthy is to live in alignment. Mentally clear, physically grounded, and spiritually lit from within. It is a lifelong dance of coming home to yourself again and again. Some days, it means showing up full of energy and motivation. Other days, it means sitting in your softness, offering yourself grace, and simply choosing to try again tomorrow. True health is not a destination. It is a practice, a way of honoring your entire being with the patience, presence, and love it deserves. It’s about balance mentally, physically, and spiritually. Coming back to what truly matters.
